Region North-East of Ulan-Bator is beautiful, unspoilt and not as well-known as the centre. Great variety of scenery, mountains, steppe, taiga. Less cattle-rearing, more vegetation. Wide rivers.
Local inhabitants are the Bouriate who live in wooden houses and the Khalkh who live in yurts.
